While the book does provide practical biblical wisdom for parenting and for marriage counseling, I start the book by contrasting two very different ways of thinking about parenting. Keep reading to see the difference between these two ways of thinking about family living\u2026<\/p>\n<p> <strong>\u201cGive Me a Parenting <em>How To <\/em>Manual!\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>As parents, and as biblical family counselors, we are often tempted to be like Manoah and his wife\u2014demanding a parenting manual instead of depending upon every word that comes from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).\u00a0It\u2019s a natural desire. We all want a <em>how to <\/em>manual for parenting.<\/p>\n<p>Manoah and his wife\u2014the parents of Samson\u2014were no exception. Having remained childless for decades, imagine the excitement Manoah\u2019s wife experiences when the angel of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0appears with this promise:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cYou are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.
