<\/p>\n<p>In Part 1 of this brief two-part blog mini-series, I asked and answered the question:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/rpmministries.org\/2025\/04\/is-empathy-the-culprit\/\">Is \u201cEmpathy\u201d the \u201cCulprit\u201d in Our Biblical Counseling World?<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve followed my ministry, then you will not be surprised that my answer was a clearcut, \u201cNo, empathy is not a culprit in our biblical counseling world.\u201d I\u2019ve written about empathy for 4 decades, culminating in my biblical counseling training manual,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/rpmministries.org\/bookstore\/gospel-conversations\/\">Gospel Conversations: How to Care Like Christ<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I also crafted this free 42-page PDF,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/rpmministries.org\/2021\/12\/empathy-is-biblical-free-42-page-pdf-resource\/\">Empathy Is Biblical<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Emphasizing What the Bible Emphasizes<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>In our evangelical Christian world and in our biblical counseling world, we continue to see writings that warn against \u201cuntethered empathy\u201d and the \u201csin of empathy.\u201d I disagree with the emphasis of these writings for several reasons, especially because<em>:<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>  <em>They reverse the Bible\u2019s emphasis on speaking the truth in loving empathy<\/em>. <em>They reverse the Bible\u2019s emphasis on <\/em><em>rebuking the error of untethering truth from loving empathy<\/em>.  <\/p>\n<p>The Bible consistently rebukes\u00a0<em>truth untethered from loving empathy<\/em>\u00a0especially when addressing how leaders minister to God\u2019s flock.<\/p>\n<p>Or, said positively:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The Bible
