I\u2019m curious, practically, what would you say is the key difference between your approach to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/biblicalcounseling?src=hashtag_click\">#biblicalcounseling<\/a> and those who self-identify as \u2018clinically-informed\u2019?<\/p>\n<p>Good question. I\u2019ll tweak the question a bit:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cWhy don\u2019t you use the labels \u2018clinically-informed\u2019 or \u2018trauma-informed\u2019 to describe your biblical counseling?\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <strong>#1: I Respect My CIBC Friends<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>First, I want to be clear that I have great respect for my CIBC friends and their approach to biblical counseling. Many have publicly shared robust descriptions of what they mean by \u201cclinically-informed.\u201d For example:<\/p>\n<p>  Read the SEBTS biblical counseling faculty statement here: <a href=\"https:\/\/rpmministries.org\/2024\/07\/10-commitments-of-rc-cibc\/\"><em>What Is Redemptive Counseling \/ Clinically Informed Biblical Counseling?<\/em><\/a>   Read Brad Hambrick\u2019s statement here: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/bradhambrick.com\/clinicallyinformed\/\">What I Mean by Clinically-Informed Biblical Counseling?<\/a><\/em>  <\/p>\n<p>So, I can choose not to use a certain label without it meaning that I demean the users of that term or the model they follow.<\/p>\n<p>I also respect my CIBC friends enough to encourage them to be sure that the \u201cbiblical\u201d in their \u201cBC\u201d remains authoritative.
