I pray that this will be a sweet day of rest and remembrance for you\u2014a day in which you will be able to rest from your normal labors to remember our Savior&#8217;s birth. As you do so, perhaps you will be blessed by this old prayer drawn from <a href=\"https:\/\/banneroftruth.org\/us\/devotional\/the-gift-of-gifts\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Valley of Vision<\/em><\/a>. It will call you to marvel at the wonder of God made man, of deity meeting humanity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">What shall I render to thee for the gift of gifts,<br \/> thine own dear Son, begotten, not created,<br \/> my Redeemer, proxy, surety, substitute,<br \/> his self-emptying incomprehensible,<br \/> his infinity of love beyond the heart\u2019s grasp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Herein is wonder of wonders:<br \/> he came below to raise me above,<br \/> was born like me that I might become like him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Herein is love;<br \/> when I cannot rise to him he draws near on<br \/> wings of grace,<br \/> to raise me to himself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Herein is power;<br \/> when Deity and humanity were infinitely apart<br \/> he united them in indissoluble unity,<br \/> the uncreated and the created.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Herein is wisdom;<br \/> when I was undone, with no will to return to him,<br \/> and no intellect to devise recovery,<br \/> he came, God-incarnate, to save me<br \/> to the<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Merry Christmas!
