It was the first day of swim lessons, and, out of the group of children, she was the only one missing this essential piece of gear. We actually own goggles, but we hadn\u2019t been able to find them before we left. My thoughts spiraled.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI should have been better prepared.\u201d
\u201cI should have started looking sooner.\u201d
\u201cI should have stopped and bought new ones on the way here.\u201d
\u201cI wonder if anyone else notices we\u2019re the only ones without goggles.\u201d
\u201cI wonder if the teacher is annoyed with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then I started berating myself even beyond the problem of having no goggles.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI should teach my daughter more responsibility with her belongings.\u201d
\u201cOur house is always messy. It\u2019s no wonder we can\u2019t find them. I just can\u2019t keep up.\u201d<\/p>\n
