For those who haven\u2019t figured out their life yet, <em>welcome to singleness.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the singles in your church are gifts, not consolation prizes. How do you care for the singles of your church without them feeling like they\u2019re attending a Christian speed-dating event?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t know <em>what <\/em>your church does, whether it\u2019s singles ministry or events. But many churches would be helped by watching <em>how <\/em>you care for singles, not just what you do for them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">1. WATCH YOUR TONE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How would you preach this to your singles? In 1\u00a0Corinthians\u00a07:8\u20139, Paul, a single man, says, \u201cI say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am. But if they do not have self-control, they should marry, since it is better to marry than to burn with desire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Usually, we\u2019re quick to jump to the latter half, that people who lack self-control should marry. That\u2019s true, but let\u2019s not skip verse\u00a08.
