In later years, Luther often reflected on this experience and saw it as the breakthrough for which he had been searching:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The words &lsquo;righteous&rsquo; and &lsquo;righteousness of God&rsquo; struck my conscience like lightning.
