In my posts, I\u2019ve been responding to an ongoing, growing series of posts by the folks at First Baptist Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p>My responses, for the most part, have remained at the level of theology of biblical counseling.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>The Personal Side of Biblical Counseling Conflicts<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s post is different. I hope to open a window into the soul of people who are being hurt by all of this\u2014including my own personal pain.<\/p>\n<p>By sharing my personal pain, I am <em>not<\/em> saying that I am right, and others are wrong. I am <em>not<\/em> asking you to choose my side because of sympathy for my suffering.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll be focusing on the hurt experienced by those being called \u201cso-called biblical counselors,\u201d \u201czombie-infected biblical counselors,\u201d \u201cneo-integrationists,\u201d \u201cpassive-aggressive\u201d (my favorite!), \u201cunfaithful biblical counselors, \u201ccompromised priests,\u201d etc.<\/p>\n<p>I know that those making these accusations also say they have suffered personal pain in all of this\u2014several have told me so. They are free to tell their story. I am <em>not <\/em>free to tell their story.<\/p>\n<p>I am free to tell <em>my <\/em>story\u2014carefully, as confidentially as possible.<\/p>\n<p>I am <em>less free<\/em> to tell the story of others who<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When friends become foes, turn to the Faithful Friend.
