Motivation and Mindset for Missionary Member Care

My wife and I recently had the distinct privilege and great pleasure of serving as part of a stateside contingent of member care counselors for a sizeable overseas gathering of regional missionaries. This member care team wholeheartedly promoted a distinctly biblical counseling-associated foundation for caregiving. Conversations with missionary field workers raise the question of how many people are aware that member care exists— much less know what it is, how it works, or why it is necessary.
