The Church’s Responsibility to Those in Sexual Slavery

A city near where I live, ironically named Independence, has a thriving unsavory business: sex trafficking and prostitution. The victims of this form of modern slavery come from all demographics, ages, and races, have diverse socio-economic backgrounds, and varying levels of education. Those captive by traffickers are often the most vulnerable in our communities; they are the homeless, the runaways, the throwaways, children, and youth. Christ commands the church to care for them.
