We all give or seek advice, guidance, and counsel in a variety of contexts; it’s a huge part of our everyday life. Whether or not we like what is said, the fact remains: we value the opinions of others. Providing counsel or giving guidance to another is a human interaction that is always at work. Misguided or superficial advice can be detrimental to the recipient, so we must ask what type of counsel are we giving and receiving. The clarification we should seek is “biblical,” which qualifies the nature of counsel given.
