Divorced Believers: How the Stigma Disrupts Unity Within the Church
Each of us likely knows at least one person at our church who is divorced, as the number of divorced individuals attending church has increased significantly in recent years. How is your church interacting with these individuals? Is your church a place where they feel at home and accepted? How do we extend the love of Christ toward our divorced brothers and sisters? Scripture is clear; God hates divorce (Mal. 2:16), and we should never minimize its biblical implications. But there is a stigma that exists within the church when it comes to divorced individuals, and I believe it undermines the unity to which we are called as members of one body (Eph. 4:3-16).
