Ephesians 4. I want to look at just one verse that will frame everything I talk about tonight. Ephesians 4:15. Here is what it says, “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…” Let’s pray.

‘Father, would you come to us now and help? We confess that as we come to your Word, as we come to this topic, as we come to this hour, we do not have strength to do what you call us to do. We are not strong enough in ourselves to bring about change even in our own lives; much less the lives of others. We are not strong enough in ourselves to understand your Word, we are not strong enough to teach your Word. So Father, we come before you as people who – almost before we are anything else – are weak and needy and dependent. We want to confess that and ask for help. I pray that you would open your Word to us. I pray that you would open our hearts to men and women who struggle in great pain. Father, help us to know
