After almost two decades in pastoral ministry, it was a strange feeling to wake up one morning and not be a pastor. The decision for me to step out of my role as a counseling pastor was intentional. In particular, we felt a desire to shift our focus towards expanding access to Biblical Counseling resources. That’s way I am excited to serve as the Resources Director for ABC.
My name is Dave Dunham. I have served as a counseling pastor, a college professor, and a Biblical Counselor. I live in the Detroit Metro area with my wife Krista and our three kids. I hold an M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Krista, who has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary, has been my ministry partner for several years now. Together we have authored two books: Table for Two: Biblical Counsel for Eating Disorders (New Growth Press, 2021) and Power with Purpose: God’s Design for Power Dynamics in Marriage (P&R, 2025). Previously, we enjoyed helping to teach the addictions track at ABC’s annual Called to Counsel Conference. I am thrilled to now be joining the team in this role.
