Many people today are forgetting the value and power of the gospel: pastors, spiritual leaders, and even Christians! Filter everything through this lens. When someone tells you that “you are enough” be reminded that Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross because you were not. When lyrics in a song tell you that you are “perfect just the way you are”, point your thoughts back to the perfection of Jesus. When you see a post on social media encouraging you in your “worthiness” be reminded that Jesus was the only one worthy enough. When you are being comforted by a friend and she tells you that “God needs you” be reminded that we serve a self-sufficient God who does not need us.
