I have mentioned before that one important element of worship at Grace Fellowship Church is the Call to Worship. These sometimes involve reading a passage of scripture, but other times combine several texts into a responsive question and answer format. Here’s an example that might bless you this morning as you prepare to worship. It is simple, but it has an important purpose: To draw the hearts of God’s people toward him, to call them to speak out truth so they can begin to respond to that truth.
Pastor: Who is your Maker?
Church: The rich and the poor meet together; the LORD is the Maker of them all. (Proverbs 22:2)
Pastor: What is your Creator like?
Church: Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. (Isaiah 40:28)
Pastor: Can you trust your Maker, even when life is hard?
Church: Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. (1 Peter 4:19)
Pastor: What does this Creator of yours deserve?
Church: Know
