One of the main questions asked when considering Scripture’s teaching on forgiveness and reconciliation is, “When do I cover an offense with love, and when do I confront another’s sin?” A quick survey of relevant Bible passages doesn’t always produce clear answers. Some texts instruct us to cover or overlook another’s sin (Prov. 19:11). Others teach us to rebuke or confront someone (Luke 17:3).
