1 Corinthians 10:13 English Standard Version (ESV)
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
If I could sit with you right now, and hear your deepest, darkest, hardest trial, here is what I would want to do. I would want to put my arms around you, weep with you, pray with you and after a time of lament, I would want to point you to 1 Corinthians 10:13. Why? Because this verse has been so life changing to me personally in my own trials. Because ultimately it is an encouragement directly from God for when we face trials and temptations. It’s easy to be filled with faith when everything makes sense and is going our way. When dark clouds hover above us, and when our peace is disrupted by a storm, we have questions and doubts. We wonder if we are all alone in our struggle, because it really feels like we are. We know God is faithful, but our pain tempts us to doubt.
