You can almost feel the tension in the air in Luke 4 as Jesus is in the synagogue on the sabbath in Nazareth, His hometown. He stands up, is handed a scroll, and reads the following, Then He says these unforgettable words—“Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing” (v. 21). While all of Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, some passages stand out more than others.
